Meet our distinguished author, a visionary leader in Organizational Development and Information Technology, whose groundbreaking work “SYSTEMIC GOVERNANCE” has revolutionized the way we approach technology management. With over five decades of practical experience, he has amassed a wealth of knowledge and expertise that spans a remarkable career trajectory.
Starting his journey in 1965 at PAL, he quickly rose through the ranks, mastering the intricacies of maintenance and engineering while absorbing valuable insights from renowned industry pioneers like McKenzie and Boeing. His early exposure to diverse processes across 18 harmonized companies laid the foundation for his future endeavors, shaping his unique approach to system building and management engineering.
As a consultant for Decision Research Corp. in 1968, he pioneered participative development methodologies, empowering department heads and their teams to define their own system requirements. This innovative approach led to the successful implementation of card and tape-based ERP systems at Republic Flour Mills, setting a precedent for collaborative problem-solving in the industry.
Transitioning to Sperry Univac (now UNISYS) in the 1970s, he served as Country Manager, driving the adoption of UNIVAC solutions across various sectors. His strategic initiatives at Guevara Enterprises and other major clients propelled the brand to new heights, solidifying his reputation as a trusted advisor and technology evangelist.
At the Technology Resource Center, he championed the adoption of computers in critical sectors such as real estate tax collections and forestry databases, earning praise for his innovative leadership and transformative impact. His expertise and dedication brought honor and prestige to the institution, leaving a lasting legacy of progress and innovation.
In the early 1980s, he ventured into the ASEAN region, spearheading IT consulting projects for the government of Malaysia. Leading a team of Filipino experts, he developed and implemented pioneering solutions for trade and industry, setting new standards for efficiency and effectiveness in government services.
One of his most significant achievements came during his tenure at PNB, where he orchestrated the implementation of an integrated CORE banking application, revolutionizing banking operations and saving millions in the process. His contributions to the banking sector and beyond have left an indelible mark on the industry, shaping the way we approach technology and innovation in finance.
His wealth of skills were drawn from his undergraduate training as maintenance ground repair electrician at Philippine Airlines where very complex operating processes adopted from USAF, KLM, American Airlines, and BOAC. As a Country GM of Sperry UNIVAC, he had the extensive exposure to worldwide mainframe applications in manufacturing, banking and government. A lifelong learner and educator, with a passion for sharing his knowledge and insights with the next generation of leaders, he continues to inspire and empower others with his expertise in organizational imperatives and Work Content Optimization.
